The new CG Resident Evil movie, Damnation, arrives September

Coinciding with the release of Resident Evil 6 and the new Milla Jovovich movie, Resident Evil: Retribution, Capcom and Sony Pictures have just confirmed the release date of the newest Resident Evil CG film, Damnation.

Says Capcom, “As war wages in Eastern Europe, the use of Bio Organic Weapons (B.O.W.s) explode into a terrifying new dimension in Resident Evil: Damnation, available September 25th on Blu-ray and DVD with UltraViolet, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Based on CAPCOM’s multi-million dollar video game series and the live-action film franchise that has grossed nearly $700MM in worldwide box office, Resident Evil: Damnation is the terrifying next chapter in the smash hit Resident Evil saga. After battling to stop the deadly G-Virus in Resident Evil: Degeneration, film and game series star “Leon S. Kennedy” returns for the ultimate battle against new B.O.W.s in an Eastern Europea nation torn by civil war. Directed by Makoto Kamiya (Resident Evil: Degeneration), Resident Evil: Damnation, is packed with the kind of eye-popping visuals and thrilling suspense Evil fans have come to expect!”

I’ve no idea when this film is supposed to take place, but the press release lists Los Plagas at the B.O.W. of choice…so I’m assuming sometime afterResident Evil 4. Leon will be joined by Hunnigan and Ada Wong in this adventure as well.

Considering our thoughts on Resident Evil: Degeneration, the first RE CG film, we don’t have high-hopes for this movie. What do you guys think of this?
