Switch launch game The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ delayed

Nintendo Switch has lost one of its launch day games, with The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ delayed to later in March.

“We were unable to confirm the revised release date until now (due to issues way beyond our control), but can confirm that the Release Date for The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on Nintendo Switch has been pushed back,” said developer Nicalis. “It’s still March, but we won’t make 3.3.”

To soften the blow, the launch edition now also includes a 20-page instruction book — very 2003. It also includes a reversible cover and a bunch of stickers.

The Binding of Isaac was originally released on PC in 2011. It was completely remade in 2014, as The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, for PC, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, 3DS and Wii U. It’s had two expansions, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+, which is the complete version coming to Switch.

Without The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+, there will now be nine launch games available for Switch on March 3.
