Sunset Overdrive features customisable characters, 8 player multiplayer and dedicated servers

Insomniac Games and Microsoft today unveiled new details on Sunset Overdrive as well as a brand new trailer and gameplay footage.

The trailer made a point to explain that players will be able to create their own customisable character in the game and won’t be required to play as the character seen thus far in trailers.

Gameplay looks to be a mish-mash of platforming, third person shooting, grinding, free-running and DmC style combat. Stylistically, Sunset Overdrive appears to be heavily influenced by comic books with onomatopoeia appearing when enemies are dispatched.

It was announced that an 8 player mode, dubbed Chaos Squad, would be included in the final product and will run on dedicated servers.

Sunset Overdrive is coming exclusively to Xbox One 28 October.

Stevivor will get hands on time with the game during E3, so stay tuned for full impressions.
