Sony won’t segregate indie and traditional publishers on the PS4

Sony said yesterday that they will not be making a distinction between traditional and indie publishers on the PlayStation 4.

“Every single individual developer is a publisher as far as we’re concerned,” said Agostino Simonetta, senior account manager of development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

“We don’t separate, we don’t segregate indies from traditional publishers,” Simonetta continued.

As such, indie devs will be able work with Sony to set release dates and promote their titles. There will also be opportunities to visit Sony’s Europe headquarters.
