Smash Bros for 3DS includes new knockback boosting mechanic

It seems that Smash Bros. on 3DS features a new type of knockback mechanic. While it’s always been standard in the series that the higher damage percentage you have the further you fly, in the 3DS version the attacker’s damage percentage factors into knockback also.

The more damage a player has when they hit another player the further that player is knocked back. While it’s not possible to test whether this mechanic exists in the Wii U version at this stage it appears that it’s exclusive to the 3DS game.

The higher your damage does not mean the more damage you’ll dish out. You’ll only knockback your opponents further. CLASH Tournaments has dubbed the mechanic “The Rage Effect.’

What do you think of the change to Smash Bros. formula?
