Silent Hills’ P.T. reaches 1 million downloads

Hideo Kojima said that he wants Silent Hills to make gamers “sh*t their pants.” If he has made the playable teaser — P.T. — that scary then he has successfully made at least 1 million people sh*t themselves.

Sony has announced that P.T. has been downloaded over one million times on the PlayStation 4, which is no mean feat for a demo. Speaking at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference, Kojima revealed that P.T.‘s notoriously difficult and obtuse puzzles were designed with the intent of getting players to press the DualShock 4’s SHARE button.

Silent Hills is a co-production between Kojima and director Guillermo Del Toro. It was announced at Gamescom and will star The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus.

We played and finished P.T. earlier this month and found it to be an exciting yet frustrating experience.

Silent Hills does not yet have a release date or announced platforms at this stage.
