Report: Xbox One SDK leaked in the name of “creativity and research”

Hacker group H4LT has allegedly leaked a full version of Microsoft’s official Xbox One software development kit (SDK).

The group made the assertion on their official official Twitter account.

If the leak is indeed the Xbox One’s true SDK, this could open it up for homebrew mods on the console. At the moment, Microsoft requires that developers are registered and approved before releasing software made using said SDK.

H4LT acknowledges that there’s currently no way around Microsoft’s approval model, but are working on a bypass at present. The hacking group said the leaked SDK is to allow for “creativity and research” in the gaming community.

Microsoft hasn’t released an official comment on this matter.
