It seems that Xbox may have leaked an announcement ahead of E3.
Spotted by Eurogamer, the Xbox Support page of the Xbox website was updated to include reference to a 3.5mm headphone port at the base of the gamepad, as shown in the diagram below. The diagram also mentions that the headphone port is “only available on controllers released after June 2015.”
The fact that the notation refers to the month of June strongly suggests that the controller will be officially unveiled at E3 next month.
