PUBG on Xbox One exclusivity contract extended: Report

PUBG on Xbox One has reportedly had its exclusivity contract extended, meaning a potential release on PS4 mightn’t happen as quickly as you’d like.

After a report yesterday suggested Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds developer Bluehole was “in talks” with Sony about an eventual PS4 release, a new report by Bloomberg today says developer Bluehole is “likely” to extend its exclusivity contract with Microsoft and Xbox One.

Microsoft declined to comment on either report.

“Right now, the team is solely focused on bringing the best game possible to Xbox One and PC. We have nothing further to announce at this time,” a representative said.

If the reports are to believed, the silver lining for PS4 players is that PUBG will eventually head to the console.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available on Windows PC and is scheduled for later in the year on Xbox One. PUBG has a new competitor on console; the free-to-play Fortnite: Battle Royale is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
