Rugby League Live 3 coming to consoles next month

Big Ant Studios has confirmed to Games On Net that the next edition of its Rugby League Live series will arrive in August for current-gen and last-gen consoles, with a PC release to follow. While no exact date was given, Big Ant has also confirmed the cover stars for the game on Facebook, the Melbourne, Queensland and Australian captain Cameron Smith for Australia, livewire New Zealand Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson for the Kiwis and reigning Super League Man of Steel, Warrington’s Daryl Clark for the English edition.

Rugby League Live 3 is the current-gen debut for rugby league and the third attempt at the sport from Big Ant Studios, who most recently found success with the impressive Don Bradman Cricket. The Rugby League Live series has had more downs than ups over the years, failing to meet the quality of the previous Sidhe Interactive developed games for PS2, Xbox and PC, but hopes are high that rugby league games have turned a corner. It can’t possibly be worse than Rugby 15, anyway.
