RIP, Xbox 360: Microsoft stops production after ten great years

Microsoft today advised it has finally stopped producing its (arguably, of course) best console.

Xbox head Phil Spencer took to Xbox Wire to bid farewell to the last-generation console, saying, “I want to personally thank the Xbox community – that includes the vast and diverse audience of gamers, developers and publishers who brought so much passion and creativity to the Xbox 360.

“You are the heart of what we do at TEAM XBOX, and you have been critical to the success of Xbox 360.”

Spencer stressed that Microsoft will still support the Xbox 360 even though it will no longer be produced. Xbox Live services will continue, providing access to online multiplayer, parties and more.
