Upon a second playthrough of Resident Evil 7‘s demo, we’ve uncovered evidence that the Umbrella Corporation actually plays some part of the game’s story.
If you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t watch this playthrough.

Speaking with other players, there are at least two phone calls that can be answered from that phone — though both seem to end the demo itself.
