Report: EA will unveil Mirror’s Edge 2, new Criterion project and more at E3

Spike TV’s All Access Live schedule for E3 on 9 June has been posted on GameTrailers and it includes details of what EA will supposedly be showcasing during its media briefing.

GameTrailer’s schedule for the show says EA will “premiere nearly a half-dozen new games, including updates on Mirror’s Edge, Dragon Age: Inquisition, a new project from Criterion Games, and much more.” Last month Spike TV host Geoff Keighley tweeted that EA would reveal six new games at its media briefing.

Mirror’s Edge 2 was announced at EA’s E3 media briefing in 2013 as being in development at DICE with a brief teaser trailer being shown. The game was announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but details have remained scant ever since. While Criterion’s most recent title was Need for Speed: Most Wanted for PC, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U and Xbox 360 the studio worked in association with Ghost Games on Need for Speed Rivals.

In September 2013 Alex Ward from Criterion announced the studio was being downsized to just 16 staff members and was being officially re-branded as Ghost Games UK. Ward revealed that 60-65 staff had been relocated to Ghost Games in Sweden to work on Need for Speed Rivals. While Criterion’s — or Ghost Games UK’s — new project remains a secret for now, we’re willing to bet it’s a racing game. Possibly one featuring a title with two words that rhyme, but that’s just a hunch.

Stevivor will be on hand at EA’s media briefing and will be providing updates as announcements are made.
