Ready at Dawn: Galahad is not a vampire, lack of reflection’s a “technical limitation”

Playing The Order: 1886, I noticed that in spite of its peerless, near flawless imagery, none of the human characters in the game had reflections.

It’s disconcerting, as — if you’ve played — you’ll have noticed that Chapter 1 is bursting at the seams with mirrors and reflective surfaces. Surely a game with such visual prowess could handle rendering reflections? Apparently not, according to Ready at Dawn’s Andrea Pessino.

When questioned on Twitter by a fan about whether the lack of reflections pointed to a vampire conspiracy or was simply the result of a technical limitation Pessino confirmed the latter.

While the former is certainly a delicious concept — considering The Order’s universe, themes and enemies — if you’ve played, you’ll realise that it’s highly unlikely that Galahad (or any of the other characters for that matter) are vampires. With Pessino’s tweet, that theory has been well and truly staked in the heart.
