Quake Champions goes into open beta later this week

Quake Champions will go into open beta later this week, Bethesda today confirmed.

The PC-only title, currently in a closed beta, will open up to all as part of a “Large Scale Tech Test” on 12 May, running until 21 May. It will be available throughout the entire period, unlike the weekends-only structure currently in place.

The open beta will also feature a new mode called Sacrifice. The new 4v4 team-based competitive mode will require teamwork to succeed, Bethesda said.

Moreover, the open beta will not have a player NDA, so those taking part will be able to stream and detail their experiences.

In April, id Software confirmed Australia would be receiving region-specific servers, though timeframes have not yet been detailed.

Quake Champions is planned for a PC release later this year.
