PS4’s new suspend/resume feature works with Bloodborne, but only in offline mode

With the PS4’s firmware update 2.50 going live last night, the console can now suspend and resume games by entering rest mode. While not all games will be compatible, the PS4’s newest (and arguably best) game Bloodborne is.

One caveat is that on resuming Bloodborne it will have been disconnected from the servers and put back at the main menu if you were playing in Online mode. If you were playing in Offline mode, it will resume and continue as you’d expect. Playing in Online mode is preferable as it grants access to multiplayer, notes from other players and visions of spectres which can all be handy in helping you progress.

It’s not yet known whether this will be a widespread issue or whether other games will remain connected or reestablish a server connection upon resumption.

Bloodborne is available now, exclusively for PS4. Check out our review and some handy tips and hints.
