Pokémon Go trainers help to catch a man wanted for attempted murder

Polygon today reports that two Pokémon Go trainers in Fullerton, California have helped catch a man wanted for attempted murder.

Seth Ortega took a break from the game when it froze — as it tends to do quite frequently of late — and looked up to see a man approach two different families, carrying a red rose.

After the first family ran away from the man, Ortega and friend Javier Soch offered assistance to the second family. Police quickly attended the scene after the first family called and reported the situation.

The man was charged with child annoyance, and it was soon discovered  he had an outstanding warrant in Sonoma, Califonia over charge of attempted murder.

The man will be extradited to Sonoma to face the greater charge.

Pokémon Go is the root of many peculiar stores of late. In one, a young woman discovered a dead body while playing. In another, robbers used Pokéstop Lures to attract victims. Most recently, Sydney residents took to water bombing disruptive trainers.
