Sony’s PlayStation 4 has hit a sales milestone in its homeland of Japan this week, selling through 1,500,886 units in the region.
Thanks to DualShockers, the information came from the Media Create chart for the week which showed the PlayStation 4 had sold 12,272 units in the past week taking the total up over the 1.5 million mark.
Sales of the PS4 have been slower than expected in Japan, however they did spike in March thanks to some high profile releases (Bloodborne, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD). Sales have dropped off a little in recent weeks, but with E3 just around the corner and likely some big announcements up Sony’s sleeve, it’s likely the PS4 will continue to see healthy sales in Japan and around the world.
