Nosgoth to launch Australian servers for humans and vampires to fight over

Free to play multiplayer action title Nosgoth will be launching Australian servers, Square Enix announced today. Strong demand from local gamers during a recent free weekend and the closed beta instigated the move, which continues the pleasant trend toward local servers for Australian gamers.

Currently in closed beta (which you can sign up for here) with an open beta expected in summer, Nosgoth is an asymmetrical team based multiplayer game pitting projectile focused humans against melee based vampires. Nosgoth takes place in the Legacy of Kain universe, beginning life as an offshoot of the cancelled single player project Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun.

The announcement trailer for the open beta is embedded below. Square Enix promise that Nosgoth will not be ‘pay to win’, with microtransactions focused on cosmetics. The closed beta has been ongoing since February and the open beta is scheduled to begin between December and March.
