No multiplayer for Just Cause 3 at launch

Don’t expect to cause carnage with your mates when Just Cause 3 launches next year. In an interview with Game Informer, Avalanche Studios’ Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Christofer Sundberg revealed that Just Cause 3 won’t ship with a multiplayer mode.

“Maybe sometime down the line, we’ll take Rico into the modern world of multiplaying,” he said adding, “our strength is the sandbox experience, and we want to deliver a great Just Cause 3 experience.” Just Cause 2 did not include multiplayer on release, but was modded for PC by fans post-release. The Just Cause 2: Multiplayer Mod isn’t an official mod, but is approved by publisher Square Enix.

Sunberg said, “”We don’t expect the fans to make the multiplayer for Just Cause 3, but at some point you have to make a choice on where your focus is.”

Just Cause 3 launches for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2015.
