Nintendo Switch’s online membership will cost $30 AUD a year

Update: AUD and NZD pricing now available.

Original story: Nintendo Switch’s online membership fees have today been detailed by the publisher.

Pricing is as follows:

  • One month: $3.99 USD, $5.95 AUD, $6.55 NZD
  • Three months: $7.99 USD, $11.95 AUD, $13.15 NZD
  • One year: $19.99 USD, $29.95 AUD, $32.95 NZD

Online services will be free until the paid subscription’s official launch in 2018.

“This paid service lets Nintendo Switch owners enjoy online multiplayer gaming as well as a dedicated smartphone app that connects to your Nintendo Switch system and helps you connect with friends for online play sessions,” Nintendo also advised alongside the pricing.

Yesterday, a HORI-made peripheral was announced, detailing just how complicated voice chat will be with the online service.

Moreover, the service will provide subscribers the chance “to download a compilation of classic titles with added online play, such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario.”

We’re working on obtaining Australian pricing now.
