Nintendo Switch: Nintendo says up to 8 multi-region accounts are supported per console

A Kotaku Q&A with Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch will support up to eight accounts per console.

More importantly, it appears that accounts from multiple regions will be supported.

“The user will access the Nintendo eShop that corresponds to the country identified in their Nintendo Account,” Kotaku’s post reads, as found by NeoGAF. “Up to eight user accounts can be created on a single Nintendo Switch system.”

It’s unclear if users will be able to actually access the Australian, North American and Japanese eShops using separate accounts on the same console. It is equally unclear if a user can sign onto a second device and access purchased content.

“The Nintendo Switch system is not region locked, but we recommend that players buy games within their region to ensure full service and support,” the answer continues.
