Nintendo Switch: Arms won’t require Joy-Con motion controls to play

During Nintendo’s Treehouse livestream, it was revealed that Arms would not require motion controls to play.

We’ve already described Arms as a “re-skinned version of Wii Sports’ Boxing.” The game has previously been shown with players using a Joy-Con in each hand, dodging and punching with motion controls.

During the Treehouse livestream, however, Nintendo’s Morgan Ritchie said, “if you’re a purist and you like button controls, you’d rather use a more traditional controller; you can of course do that as well.”

You can watch the full presentation here.

Arms heads to the Nintendo Switch in spring 2017. Expect a hands-on preview shortly.
