An option for those not worried about the peripheral being manufactured by a third party is the Mayflash Gamecube adapter available now from Play Asia. Looking almost identical to the official Nintendo adapter the adapter allows users to connect up to four Gamecube controllers to their Wii U and also includes a switch to enable compatibility with PC.
The adapter is listed for $19.99 USD ($24.65 AUD).
