Need for Speed executive producer wants the game to have legs

In the traditional of annual franchises, Need for Speed games have rarely been expanded upon beyond basic downloadable content like extra cars or a new track or area. That might be changing this year, as executive producer on Ghost Games upcoming Need for Speed Marcus Nilsson has said to VideoGamer the team has “significant plans” to keep gamers playing this years edition longer, going beyond just car packs.

While not able to expand on those plans at this time, it is encouraging to hear that the Need for Speed series may be evolving and that this “year off” in 2014 signals more than just a break for the series but a rethink of what it is. Need for Speed arrives 3 November for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Check out our E3 preview here.
