Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg teases big things for Xbox One in 2015’s holiday season

Speaking on The Inner Circle Podcast, Xbox Global Director of Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg had a lot to say about the holiday season 2015.

He teased that there were plans for limited edition consoles in the works, but wouldn’t elaborate on just what they were at this stage. “We have a great team that does a lot of cool custom consoles, and we’d love to make them for every title, and the challenge is that our retail partners can’t take every one, we can’t manufacture twelve different versions, so we have to kind of pick our bets,” said Greenberg.

He added, “But I know some of the things we’re planning for this Holidays, and I think you’ll be pretty pleased with some of the limited edition plans, and there’s some other things that we’re still finalizing,” which seems to hint at a possible Halo 5: Guardians console.

On Halo 5, Greenberg said it’s “gonna be huge.” Greenberg excitedly discussed the upcoming fifth installment in Master Chief’s story calling it, “one of the biggest entertainment releases of the year if we do our job right.” He also compared playing it to cinema saying “It’s such a deep story. To me it’s like the closest thing to playing in a real movie, you know?”

During the podcast, Greenberg mentions that most of Xbox One’s big games will be released in the September-December period with many titles to be announced at E3. He explained that Microsoft may have too many games for the holiday period which he described as a good problem to have.

What do you hope Microsoft announce this year? Do you want to see a Halo 5 bundle?
