Metal Gear Solid V confirmed for a September release alongside two special editions

Konami today confirmed yesterday’s reports of a September release for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game will see a worldwide release on 1 September.

Two special editions of the game will be available on that date. First a Day One edition will come with an XP boost in Metal Gear Online, the Adam-ska Special Handgun, a silver Personal Ballistic Shield, a Cardboard Box (Wetland) and Blue Urban Snake fatigues. Physical copies will also come with a map.

Second, a physical Collector’s Edition on PS4 and Xbox One will offer a half-scale replica of Snake’s bionic arm and the Day One edition map. The game comes in a steelbook case and comes bundled with a second disc containing special features.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be available from 1 September on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It’s Windows PC release follows on 15 September.

Australian Collector’s Edition availability and pricing has yet to be confirmed.
