Mass Effect 4 “feels like Mass Effect”, but what does that mean?

Producer on Mass Effect 4 Michael Gamble relayed some positive feedback on Twitter; that the game “feels like Mass Effect“, a good thing considering the beloved original games.

What “feels like Mass Effect” means is open for debate, does it feel like the original Mass Effect, an Xbox 360 timed exclusive with laboured inventory management, detailed but clunky combat and plenty of open world exploration? Is it more Mass Effect 2 or 3, tighter combat but more third person shooter than RPG as Bioware streamlined everything from inventory to side quests and combat abilities? Is Commander Shepard making a return? Does it just mean the Turians look like Turians and we’re looking into this too deeply?

Regardless, fans will be happy the game isn’t straying too far from its roots. There is still no release date for the game, or much information of note at all, hence why I’ve just over analysed a tweet from the producer.
