Killer Instinct Season 2 gets new fighters, increased resolution and more

Microsoft and Iron Galaxy have revealed details for Killer Instinct: Season 2 ahead of its launch today.

As with Season 1, players will be able to download KI free of charge and play with a rotating character per week. The free version will allow players to play all game modes including online immediately. Those who already have Season 1 downloaded will find that Season 2’s improvements will be automatically updated and applied.

Season 2 will feature eight new characters two of which are Cinder and Riptor with six characters remaining a mystery. New characters are described by Microsoft as “an ancient Babylonian sorcerer, an avenging ghost, a battle-hardened war golem.”
