It’s finals time for the Oceanic Pro League

It’s been an exciting first split for the League of Legends Oceanic Pro League (OPL). The first of its kind in Australia, it pitted the top 8 League of Legends teams in the region against each other to see who could claim the title of Oceanias first professional league champions.
The first split wasn’t without its fair share of drama however, with several players banned throughout the split and one team even being removed entirely due to incredibly toxic behaviour.

All that is in the past now as four teams have risen to the top and are ready to duke it out in the finals of the first ever OPL split.

The first Semi Final takes place this evening at 6pm and will see 2nd place Dire Wolves taking on 3rd place Legacy Esports. This should be a close match with both teams fighting hard for their place in the Final. The second Semi Final will be on Thursday 2 April and features The Chiefs Esports Club taking on Team Immunity for the remaining spot in the Final. The Chiefs only dropped one game all split giving them a 13 – 1 record and making them huge favourite going into the finals.

The two winners will then face each other on 9 April in a battle to see who’ll represent Oceania at the International Wildcard Invitational. The Final will be a best of five format, with the winning team also netting themselves $16,000 AUD.

The Semi Finals start at 6pm both nights and you can watch them on the official Riot Games Oceania Twitch channel here or check it out below.
