Halo: MCC’s next patch is being beta tested before being shipped out

Today’s news truly has us stepping through the looking glass. The issues brokenness of Halo: MCC is well documented at this point and even after nearly 3 months since release, problems persist.

343 Industries is now taking the extraordinary measure of asking players to beta test the game’s next patch. In a post on Halo Waypoint 343 details that it will be seeking those who are part of the Xbox Preview program in North America only, who have a copy of Halo: MCC and have opted-in for beta testing. Those selected will be asked to update the game Friday 23 January (North American time).

The post states that the latest patch will include ” changes to the matchmaking experience and party system.”

What do you think? Beta testing a patch. Is it a joke or a good idea? Does it open up all new possibilities for publishers to generate revenue? “Buy the patch testing season pass! Only $29.95 (doesn’t include any new content).”

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available for Xbox One.
