Sony Computer Entertainment President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida took to Twitter today to correct good ol’ Geoff “Doritos and Mountain Dew” Keighley after the Spike TV host incorrectly stated an upcoming PS4 update will let users turn off controller lightbars.
Turns out, the update will actually let gamers down turn the intensity of the lightbar, not turn it off altogether.
Here’s the Twitter exchange:
@geoffkeighley no, I said dim the LED, not turn off

We love Yoshida-san’s style. Blunt. To the point. Powerful.
Hopefully, this functionality is included alongside HDCP support in the soon-to-be-released PS4 update 1.7.
