Playground Games’ Ralph Fulton spoke with Digital Spy at E3 and confirmed that Forza Horizon 2 won’t launch with “tokens”, Forza 5‘s verson of microtransactions, at launch.
Fulton said the lack of transactions in Horizon 2 was “to be fair, to be fun, to be rewarding.”
“That’s incredibly important to us,” he said. “For that reason, we will launch in September without tokens.”
Forza 5 copped flak at launch for relying too heavily on microtransactions. Shortly afterward, Microsoft tweaked the rate at which tokens were earned without cash.
Forza Horizon 2 will be available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 30 September.
