Fallout Shelter coming to the App Store for iOS devices today

At Bethesda’s E3 press conference it was announced that a brand new Fallout game would be launching after the press conference for iOS.

Called Fallout Shelter, it’s a sim game inspired by the likes of XCOM and Sim City in which the player takes on the role of the Overseer of a Vault. The Overseer must look after all of the Dwellers in the Vault, by making them happy, keeping them fed and watered and ensuring enough stocks and supplies are available. To do this, the Overseer will need to send Dwellers out into the Wasteland.

A balance must be kept between food, water and power and by doing so and levelling up the player will be rewarded with lunchboxes filled with random loot. Loot will assist in continuing to improve the Vault.

Accidents and disasters can occur at any time and include fires, Rad Roach swarms and even Raider invasions. If these diaasters do occur and you lose Dwellers, the best way to make more is the old fashioned way. If two Dwellers have the right stats they can couple up and make a baby, which as the Overseer, you have the privilege of naming.

Fallout Shelter is free to play, but does not include any pay wall timers and does not require an Internet connection. Players are able to purchase additional lunchboxes, but will not be required to pay for anything if they wish.

Fallout Shelter will be available on the iOS App Store tonight.
