Elite: Dangerous is coming to Xbox One this year, Microsoft’s Head of Xbox Phil Spencer announced at the Game Developers Conference today.
The crowd funded sequel to one of the grandfathers of gaming will not be pulling any punches for the console crowd, with David Braben, CEO of Frontier Developments confirming on their forums that the game will not be “dumbed down”. Undoubtedly if Microsoft ever announces a virtual reality headset for the console that will be supported, but Kinect support for Elite: Dangerous might be a stretch.
Braben also confirmed that the ‘narrative and galaxy state’ will be shared over PC, Mac and Xbox One, meaning players on all platforms contribute to galaxy wide wars and to achieving community goals.
Elite: Dangerous is out now for PC and Mac. No release date for the Xbox One version has been announced.
