Set just after World War I, players will take up the mantle of a doctor returning home who is bitten by a Spanish Flu sufferer and subsequently becomes a vampire.

Apparently the spelling of Vampyr is significant as the letter ‘Y’ refers to choices players will need to make. As a doctor the protagonist wants to heal and help people while being a vampire means he has a desire to kill and feed. Players will have to walk this line. The tagline for Vampyr is “Take Blood. Save a life.”

DONTNOD has also revealed that it is commencing with a second development team to enable development on multiple projects.

No release date or platforms for Vampyr have been announced at this stage.
