Sonic the Hedgehog’s 25th birthday was a bit of a disaster, but thankfully, Sonic Mania has a sense of humour about it.
One of the game’s developers has taken to Twitter to confirm that an audio queue is intentional… and pointed. A buzz in one of Sonic Mania‘s levels is a straight-up sample of a buzzing that plagued a livestream meant to celebrate Sonic’s birthday last year.
The buzzing was discovered by Twitter user UnknownKongYT.

Developer Brad Flick confirmed the buzz was exactly what the gamer had thought.
