The Diversion: Robots are here to take the grind out of Destiny

When all of the loot caves are closed, where can you turn for mindless, slow progress with minimal effort in Destiny? Why robotics, of course. A Reddit user yavin427 has created a robot to manipulate the controller, endlessly restarting from a certain checkpoint in the mission “The Dark Beyond”, alternating between melee and shooting while moving slightly left to right. The result? A very slow but nonetheless effective way to get a character to Level 20 in Destiny.

With the best way to grind end game loot in Destiny requiring three characters to play through all the weekly challenge missions three times, this is one unique shortcut to avoid playing through all that content without the promise of decent rewards. As yavin427 says, this isn’t the fastest or most effective way to grind to Level 20, but it certainly requires the least effort once in place.

You can check out yavin427’s methods and videos of the robot in action on reddit, along with instructions on how to create your own if you find the thought of grinding more Destiny to allow you to then, well, grind more Destiny, unappealing.
