[Update]Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has a four-tiered pre-order system, available early next year

Square Enix today announced Deus Ex: Mankind Divided‘s four-tiered pre-order system called “Augment Your Pre-order”, which offers a choice of rewards based on the number of global pre-orders taken for the title.

From today, Tier 1 will provide a choice between three loadouts. Tier 2 will let customers choose between an art book or soundtrack. Tier 3 will unlock a mission titled “Desperate Measures. Finally, Tier 4 will give you the choice between a comic book or novella.

Those who order the Collector’s Edition of the game will bypass the promotion and just get a bunch of stuff:

“In addition to containing all the in-game content & rewards from the ‘Augment Your Pre-Order’ campaign, it also comes with a 48-page ‘Titan’ Art Book, a 9″ Adam Jensen figurine, a limited edition steelbook and the Day 1 Edition of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided,” Square said of the Collector’s Edition.

The Collector’s Edition costs $149.99 USD, a huge step up from a normal $59.99 USD pre-order.

Do you like the sound of this initiative, or is it a little too Kickstarter for your tastes?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be available in February next year.

Update: Square Enix has revealed that the official release date for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is 23 February 2016. Additionally, if the global number of required pre-orders is reached, Tier 5 will be unlocked and will see the title released 4-days ahead of the official release date.
