Destiny 2: No private PvP at launch, no Heroic Guided Games ever

Destiny 2 won’t support private PvP matches at launch and will not support Guided Games for Heroic Raids, Bungie’s Luke Smith recently confirmed.

Smith dropped the two bombshells with Kotaku on its E3 podcast.

First, PvP. Smith confirmed that private matches, introduced to Destiny during its “Rise of Iron” expansion, will not be available at launch. He added that “something” related to Ranked Play may or may not “make September.”

Smith then confirmed that Guided Games, Destiny 2‘s big Raid matchmaking feature, will only apply to the normal versions of the Raids, not Heroic ones.

“The normal tier activities will be Guided Games,” he said, “and the heroic will be find your own still.”

Kind of a letdown, considering how Bungie was lauding the feature, eh?

Destiny 2 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 6 September, followed by a delayed release on Windows PC on 26 October.
