Destiny 2 confirmed for PC, consoles in September

Destiny 2 will debut on PC, Xbox One and PS4 this September, Bungie has today confirmed.

The news was detailed alongside the game’s first trailer, titled, “Rally the Troops”.

The trailer also explains why our Guardians are losing most of their gear; they’re losing most things dear to them. But not to worry — as Cayde-6 says, “there will be a ton of loot” in this new adventure.

We’re really hoping the humour shown in this trailer — plus its latest reveal — manages to stay in the finished product. There’s a chance we’ll see that in action on 18 May, when Bungie will debut gameplay footage from the upcoming title.

Publisher Activision Blizzard has also detailed two special editions of the game, but has yet to confirm Australian availability or pricing. Additionally, it’s been confirmed that Destiny 2 will host an open beta ahead of release. Those who pre-order will be given early access to the beta, though dates have not yet been confirmed.

Destiny 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 8 September. We’ll keep you posted with any new developments.
