Defiance going free-to-play on both PC and PS3

MMO Shooter Defiance will be free-to-play on both PC and PS3 starting in June. The Trion Worlds developed game — which is linked with the TV series of the same name — will be F2P on PC in June and PS3 in July. A free-to-play version for Xbox 360 will be announced at a later date.

New and existing players can expect to receive a range of boosts, bonuses and items once Defiance transitions including XP, skill and reputation boosts, 10% discount on all store items, one-hour boosts and bonus lock boxes.

New players who purchase a boxed or digital copy will play for free from the get go and will receive 1,000 Arkforge (in-game currency), 4 character slots, 5 loadouts, up to 75 Ark keycodes and at least 70 inventory slots. New missions will become available to all players soon which tie in with the events of Season 2 of the TV series.

Defiance will be free-to-play on 4 June for PC and 15 July for PS3.
