Capcom reveals strong performance in Q1, renews focus on consoles and online titles

Capcom’s reported strong performance in Q1 2015/2016 with particular credit being directed at the sales of console games. Both sales and operating income increased year on year and now Capcom plans to focus on console and online gaming.

The report revealed that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate had achieved cumulative sales of 3.9 million units and while numbers weren’t revealed, both Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition were mentioned as positive contributors, particularly outside of Japan.

Sales were up 14,541 million yen or 51.9% from the same period last year while operating income increased to 2,026 million yen, up 59.8% on the previous year.

Capcom’s future certainly looks bright, especially with titles like Street Fighter V on the horizon.
