Destiny 2 developer Bungie has said that Destiny 1 Silver appearing on Steam was nothing more than an error.
While Destiny 2 heads to console in early September, it will be followed by a release on PC in October, a first for the franchise. PC players, as you’d expect, were quite excited at the discovery of the original Destiny‘s cosmetic currency, Silver, appearing in Steam recently. To most, that would suggest the original MMO-shooter would be available on PC as well. Alas, Bungie says no.
Destiny transactions on Steam were made available in error. All purchases will be refunded manually by Valve. Sorry for the confusion!

When followed up on the original game’s availability by another Twitter user, Community Manager David ‘DeeJ’ Dague didn’t sugarcoat it.
Spoiler: You don't.

The other aspect to the (accidental) Steam release is that Destiny 2 is exclusive to Blizzard’s own Battle.net service, prompting PC fans to ask if Destiny 2 would actually be available on Steam as well. Again, Bungie said no.
We're with Blizzard. No plans to release Destiny 2 on PC anywhere else. Pass it on.

Curiouser and curiouser, eh? We’ll keep you posted if more comes to light.
Destiny 2 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 6 September. A PC release follows on 24 October. PC players also get to indulge in a beta from 28 August.
