Become a homeowner in The Elder Scrolls Online with today’s free update

The Homestead update for The Elder Scrolls Online is now live on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, letting players become homeowners in Tamriel.

After downloading the patch, buy apartments, homes and manors — or even an island, if fortunes fall your way.

While the update is free, homes, obviously, are not. They can be purchased using in-game gold or with real cash through the Crown Store, and decorated from a selection of more than 2000 items. Alternatively, you can get your foot in the property market for free by completing a tutorial quest. It’s pretty crummy, but from there you can upgrade to bigger and better things, and become a multiple homeowner.
