Battlefield 1: Watch 13 minutes of single-player gameplay from the prologue chapter

A taste of Battlefield 1 content is now available on Xbox One and Windows PC through EA Access, including two of the six single-player War Stories.

We recorded the short prologue chapter, “Storm of Steel”, to give you a taste of the single-player content. It took us less than 15 minutes played on normal difficulty, and sets a dark tone true to the realities of War World I for many of its combatants — you’re not meant to survive the prologue. You play as several soldiers, each given a name with a date of birth, and most of them die in the harsh reality of the dawn of modern warfare.

The EA Access First Play Trial also includes the tank-based “Through Mud and Blood” War Story, which takes about an hour to complete. While Storm of Steel has to be completed first, the five full-length War Story chapters can then be played in any order. They’re independent to each other — it’s not one linear campaign — featuring different protagonists and varied tones. Some are dark, others are serious, and one is fairly light-hearted…considering the circumstances.

Battlefield 1 will be released in Australia on October 21 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The First Play Trial content is now available to EA Access subscribers on Xbox One and PC.

Stevivor played this content and the full game at an event in Los Angeles ahead of our review next week. Flights and accommodation were paid for by EA.
