Atlus’ parent company purchased by Sega for 14 billion yen

Following reports that Atlus’ parent company Index holdings were selling the publishers operations it’s now been confirmed that Sega Sammy will purchase Index Holdings for 14 billion yen.

A tweet from Atlus’ official Japanese Twitter account confirmed the deal which will conclude in November.

What the purchase means for Atlus’ properties — Persona, Shin Megami Tensei etc — remains uncertain at this stage. Earlier this year Sega purchased Company of Heroes 2 at the THQ fire sale.
