Assassin’s Creed: Origins: Leak reveals release date, collector’s editions

A leaked copy of GameInformer has outed Assassin’s Creed: Origins details ahead of E3.

Like the leaked merchandise before it, the magazine confirms Origins‘ setting of Egypt alongside the name of the male protagonist, Bayek.

New information as obtained from the magazine includes the game’s release date — 27 October — and several different editions of the game.

The game’s standard edition will be priced at $59.99 USD, while a Deluxe Pack is priced at $69.99 USD. The Gold Edition, which contains the Deluxe Pack and a Season Pass, comes in at $99.99 USD. Finally, the Gold Steelbook Edition adds a steelbook to the Gold Edition for $109.99 USD.

Those that pre-order Origins will get a free DLC mission called “The Secrets of the First Pyramids”.

Moreover, the game features a new combat system and AI. A compass at the top of the screen will replace an in-game mini-map, and the sprint button has been discarded in place of speed based on the amount of pressure you place on the left-stick. Eagle Vision will highlight objects but not enemies, allegedly.

Taking place during the reign of Cleopatra, Assassin’s Creed: Origins will include cities like Alexandria and Memphis.

We’ll have more on Assassin’s Creed: Origins soon as E3 starts up in less than 24 hours. EA’s press conference kicks things off at 5.00 am AEST on 11 June.
