Alan Wake released on PC in February; supports Steam and not GFWL

When Alan Wake hits the PC, it’ll be self-published by Remedy Games. What’s that mean, you ask? For starters, there’s no (usually game-breaking) extra components to the game.

“Games for Windows Live will not be used; we will be fully supporting the Steam platform,” said Remedy, as PC gamers around the world collectively breathed a sigh of relief.

Developed by Remedy, and in conjunction with Nitro Games, the title will work with an Xbox 360 controller if you’ve got it, and clocks in at a 7.5GB download; the title comes complete with “The Signal” and “The Writer” DLC from the original Xbox 360 release of Alan Wake. Unfortunately for Mac users out there, Alan Wake will only be available on PC.

Current PC specs required for the game are as follows, but are subject to change:

OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
PROCESSOR:A dual core processor is required:

  • AMD: Athlon X2 2.8GHz
  • Intel: Core 2 Duo 2GHz

MEMORY: 2 GB
HARD DRIVE: 8 GB
VIDEO CARD:DirectX 10 compatible or later with 512MB RAM

  • AMD: ATI Radeon 3650, 4450, 5550, 6450 or higher (per series)
  • NVIDIA: GeForce 8600GT, 9500GT, GT120, GT430, GT520 (per series)
