Destiny: Age of Triumph: How to get the new Necrochasm

Destiny‘s Age of Triumph has a new Exotic Necrochasm to collect, and we’ve the steps to do it.

Unlike the original Necrochasm, you’re only depending on RNGesus to pull through in the first step of this new quest. Small favours?

You’ll need to get the Husk of the Pit (and its titular quest) from a random drop — we’ve found they drop inside Strikes, but we found ours doing the Weekly Story Mission.

Once you’ve got the Husk, you’ll need to upgrade it to the Eidolon Ally by killing Thrall, Wizards or Knights. To check, go and look at the Husk (it’s a primary weapon). The only orb you can charge will tell you which you’re needing to focus on.

For Thrall and Knights, Guardians tend to prefer two missions to do this: “The Dark Below” (Moon) or “Siege of the Warmind” (Earth). Both feature a checkpoint that you can restart to farm as many as you can stand. For Wizards, it’s best to farm The Dreadnaught — do laps around the Court of Oryx.

Once you’ve farmed your kills, head to the Speaker (who’ll give you 25 Motes of Light — hang onto them!), then Eris Morn. They’ll give you your next stages.

The next two bits of the quest can be done inside the Crota’s End Raid — you’ll need to complete the first bit of the Raid, escaping the Lamp pit, then kill Crota himself to finish the next step.

After that, you’ll need to run the Strike called “The Will of Crota” and kill Omnigul. This complete, use 25 Motes of Light to fully upgrade your Husk (now the Eidolon Ally) and head back to Eris. Grab the Essence of the Oversoul from her, and apply that to the Eidolon Ally.

That’s it — the new Necrochasm is yours. Enjoy!

Destiny is available now on Xbox One and PS4. It’s final live event, Age of Triumph, runs over April.
